26 I have made you[e] known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”
Jesus wants to draw us into the Father’s love. Because we are assured of His undying love, we don’t have to protect ourselves from whatever we have to face or admit in order to be ‘saved’.
People believe that they will only be loved if they are perfect. They can’t understand why they won’t be hated for their mistake, so they hide their mistakes – from themselves.
God says, “Be established in my love, the kind of love that frees you to face your mistakes and be truly saved.” – paraphrase of Romans 8:33-35 and Eph 3:14-19
When someone saves your life, you love them – meaning you believe in them, you follow them.
Everyone protects themself from taking responsibility, because once you take responsibility, you have to pay the bill.
The bill’s paid (by a crazy lover – the judge). This is what’s so hard to believe in – it’s the (only) way to be saved.
