o they took away the stone. Then Jesus lifted His eyes upward and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 I knew that You always hear Me, but I say this for the benefit of the people standing here, so they may believe that You sent Me.” 43After Jesus had said this, He called out in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” Jn 11:41-43
It is one thing to touch something with your finger tips – this becomes a great experience that we have. A wild story we can entertain the grandkids with.
Like a tennis player who hits a great shot every once in a while….
It’s altogether another thing to become ESTABLISHED in that experience
Healing the sick when directed, raising the dead if that is the assignment – Jesus was established in these things. He said, “ I knew that You always hear Me, but I say this for the benefit of the people standing here, so they may believe that You sent Me.”
Peter and John learned from the best. They understood what it looked like to be established in something. They recognized establishment when they saw it. It had happened! So they said,
“Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee. In the Name of Jesus…” Acts 3:6
How do we become established. Andy Murray was once asked this about his backhand. He said, “100 high, 100 low, 100 on the run [with the ball machine]”. Become accustomed to it, get the feel of it. Then it doesn’t matter what time of the month it is, or what happened yesterday. Like brushing your teeth ….It’s established. Doesn’t mean you wouldn’t need to change your toothbrush every so often…. You just go out and get a new one, and you know what to do with it.
How do we become established in the economy of the kingdom? Daily. Making it the frame of reference for everything, the resource for everything. Then living by the Kingdom becomes like the skill of breathing. Then you know what you have, and you know who hears you. Always.
